Cartagena de Indias
Wedding welcome party and post-wedding brunch on a boat
The wedding is one day, but your guests are in Cartagena for at least three. Welcome them with a sunset cocktail the evening before, so both families meet before the big day. Or send them home with a brunch out at sea the morning after. We can do the whole weekend, or just one of the two.

The night before: sunset welcome cocktail
We leave the dock in the late afternoon and sail the bay in front of the walled city, with the sunset behind you. Two or three hours of drinks and music so the families meet, the guests who just landed feel welcome, and everyone is fresh for the wedding. Usually the Friday, but any day of the week works.

The morning after: brunch at sea
Out at 10, full day on the water. We can take the group to Playa Secreta and have you back at the dock by 5. This is the plan that has your guests talking about the whole weekend, not just the party. Small group? We build it around the boat you need.

Booked once, for both days
Same vessel or two different ones depending on the group, one contact and one contract. Your wedding planner coordinates with us instead of five suppliers — and if you don't have a planner, or you'd rather she didn't handle this part, we put the whole thing together. You two just stay the stars of the moment.

Frequently asked questions
What exactly is included, and what is charged separately?
Always included: the private vessel with captain and deckhand, life jackets and passenger insurance, and the ice, coolers and glassware. IT DEPENDS ON THE VESSEL: the sound system, the head (bathroom) on board, how much shade it has, and the departure fee — most boats include it from their own dock, a few charge it separately and we tell you when we quote. Added to taste: open bar or corkage, catering and canapes, DJ, and styling with flags and the couple's name. We don't sell a closed package because every boat comes with different things: tell us your guest count and what you want, and we send the exact figure with everything in it.
What is a welcome party on a boat?
It's the night-before plan: we pick up the guests who flew in and sail the bay at sunset, in front of the walled city, with a bar and music. It runs two or three hours and ends early — there's a wedding the next day. Usually Friday, but any day works: on weekdays the large boats can leave from 5:30 pm, on weekends from 6:00 pm, once the day charters are back.
How many guests fit?
From 8 on a speedboat or a small catamaran, up to 180 on the largest catamaran in the fleet. The most requested welcome parties are groups of 30 to 80, which sit comfortably on a large catamaran.
What time is the post-wedding brunch?
For the Rosario Islands the right departure is 9:00 am sharp, back at the dock by 5:00 pm, which is the deadline to disembark. If your group is hungover or doesn't want an early start, we can leave at 10 or 11 and head to Cholón or Playa Secreta instead: still back by 5, or you add an extra hour and close the weekend with a sunset.
Can we do only one of the two?
Of course. Many couples start with the welcome cocktail, which is the most requested, and decide on the brunch later. Each one is quoted separately, so you build the weekend at your own pace.
Do we have to book our wedding with you?
No. Your wedding, your call — we know that and we respect it. Many of the welcome cocktails and post-wedding brunches we run are for weddings held in ballrooms or hotels, some with a planner and some without. We want you to feel free to choose whatever you like best: we provide the boat and handle everything, or we coordinate with whoever is organising the wedding. And if you'd like, we can also host the wedding itself on board: here's how, on our weddings page.
When should we book?
A wedding is organised at least five months out, and it depends on the date: between December and January, Easter week and long weekends, the large vessels are taken a year or more ahead. A deposit confirms it and the date is held for you.
What if it rains?
In the bay we sail anyway: the large catamarans have a covered lounge. If the Port Authority closes departures for weather, we reschedule or refund the deposit.
